Harshawardhan Bal, PhD, brings over a decade of diversified experience in the life sciences industry. He has held lead positions at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, OSI Pharma/Astellas and Millennium Pharma/Takeda Oncology where he applied bioinformatics and genomics technologies for drug discovery R&D and developed an enterprise knowledge management system to preserve institutional knowledge across the oncology and cardiovascular therapy areas. As a management consultant at Booz & Co., Harsh worked with the firm's Federal as well as commercial practice and played key roles in several projects with significant healthcare impact, such as the NCI's cancer biomedical informatics program and global regulatory submission strategy for pharmaceutical clients. Previously, Harsh headed business development for Piramal Enterprises and Sentiss Pharma and managed global pharmaceutical clients and product portfolio planning with an overall mandate exceeding US$200 Mn. Harsh holds an M. Pharm from Nagpur University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi with post-doctoral research at the Univ of Rochester Medical Center, NY and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, NY. He has authored several peer-reviewed articles in international journals as well as books on biomedical informatics by Tata McGraw-Hill and Springer.
